HPP plans conversion and expansion of Congress Hall at Leipzig Zoo
The Leipzig Congress Hall will be converted and restored according to landmark protection criteria by plans of HPP Architects. The design originated from a competition with 52 participants. The Congress Hall is located in direct distance to the Leipzig Zoo and is supposed to provide additional space also to the zoo.
The landmark protected historical building will be cautiously extended by a new building in order to create the required space for further congress rooms as well as the new zoo restaurant. By 2014 the zoo restaurant will be located in the new terminal building, where in front of it also a palm tree hall and a two-storey southern terrace will be built.
