HPP’s design for the national football museum was awarded a prize yesterday. The City of Dortmund awarded the prize to HPP and two other participants in the competition that drew entries from all over Europe. Dortmund organised the 2-stage competition on behalf of the DFB Football Museum Foundation and 25 architects took part. The new building is to be the home of the history of German football and will stand in the centre of the city of Dortmund, opposite the Central Railway Station providing a location outside of the usual football events where the legend can become reality. It will shape the northern gateway to the city centre in conjunction with the Art and Culture Mile. The three prizewinning designs will now be elaborated, in line with jury guidelines, until the end of June.
