This urban building block located between Königsallee and Breite Strasse wins the viewer over with its compactness. The functions of office, hotel, school, restaurant, and wellness center are all combined in an exciting but―because of the disciplined detail and material language―nonetheless homogenous building complex. The office spaces are accessed by their own entrance on the Königsallee. The two-story space sets the stage for the extremely reductionist stair unit with its illuminated ceiling and the light-colored, large slabs of natural stone on the walls and the floor. The avoidance of anything superfluous directs the gaze to what is essential and creates a balance of lightness and weight.
