This new patient accommodation unit was constructed as part of the existing hospital ensemble. The predominant motif of the rendered facade was re-used and combined with light-metal bands of windows into which coloured panes were set. All patient rooms were designed to be disabled friendly with two bed units set opposite one another and the nursing points in the centre. Views of
the patients’ garden on the roof of the accommodation unit are afforded by the large windows and room-height glazed ends of the corridors, lending the unit a hotel-like feel.
