Werner Sübai and Yu Wei shared some insights on balanced city, healthy living and the interrelation of community and city. Our project Xujiahui Sports Park in Shanghai was taken as an example, from large-scale concepts to detailed aspects, with the contrast from old to new, illustrating the significant value of the sports park to urban life. As one of our most recent urban transition projects, the Xujiahui Sports Park carves public space out of density and demonstrates the importance of rethinking collective interaction spaces within dense urban fabric.
