HPP partner Antonino Vultaggio and project manager Andreas Feder accepted the award together with Wolfgang Spelthahn, District Administrator of Düren, and Julia Hüllbrock, representative of the Euskirchen project development company F&S concept. The execution of the mixed-use urban quarter as a symbol for the architectural awakening of the city and a milestone for Düren's future urban development convinced the twelve-member jury from the fields of real estate, media and architecture. With the opening of the Bismarck Quarter opposite Theodor-Heuss-Park in mid-2019, a key element of the Düren city centre master plan was completed. On the 6,200 m² site, a diverse mix of uses has been created with the new Dorint Hotel, a conference centre, high-quality apartments as well as commercial and office units. "The mix of residential, living and working uses has resulted in a district of short distances and a new centre in the simultaneously green heart of the city", Antonino Vultaggio.
