A major part of the new concept for the food court was the restructuring from one to two storeys to accommodate a total of 20 restaurant tenants and 1,300 seats. The Centro is regarded as a flagship shopping destination in the Ruhr area and is also the largest shopping and experience centre in Germany. The revitalisation of the food court was aimed at increasing comfort and service. A new material and colour concept as well as the modified room concept with seating islands and lounge areas increase the potential for relaxation and, together with large plant arrangements, create a more tranquil and more natural atmosphere.
