The design of the new building responds to the sloping terrain: three staggered, terraced volumes form the research complex. Bridges on the upper floors and light-flooded atriums connect the individual structures. The AAC Technologies Global R&D Centre is open and transparent with a vertically structured façade made of glass and white sun protection slats. The centrepiece is the six-storey atrium, which serves as the entrance to the research complex and appears particularly open to the outside thanks to the deliberate arrangement of the façade slats.
