The new football arena looks like a pearl on the Yellow River. It is the centrepiece of a 63-hectare area for sport and leisure. The stadium is currently one of the most complex football arenas in the whole of China and sets new standards in terms of construction and façade. For example, the steel structure with a cantilever length of 45 metres is the longest cantilevered structure in China. The elaborate roof structure rises and falls, and the construction difficulty of the closing section is very challenging. It is the world's first stadium with a façade made of a planar single-layer film wheel spoke cable membrane structure system, and the first professional football pitch to be covered with a large-format PTFE mesh membrane coating with high light transmittance.

The entire stadium is due to be completed in 2026. In addition to the Soccer Arena, another football pitch is also being built on the site, as well as a swimming pool, fitness centre and a multifunctional sports complex.
