The award was made on the basis of the restoration of the original façade during the course of the complex refurbishment as well as the energetic, technical and structural improvements. The project is an example of how the restoration of a historic monument can be carried out in harmony with sustainability and energy efficiency, explained Marc Holzhausen, a member of Becken Development’s Board of Management. Becken Development are the owners of the Finnlandhaus, designed and realised by Helmut Hentrich and Hubert Petschnigg in 1966. They have had their headquarters in this Hamburg landmark building since June 2017.
