Today, DGNB President Amandus Samsoe Sattler presented the award at Expo Real in the presence of Düsseldorf's Lord Mayor Stephan Keller. Eclipse is thus the third project in North Rhine-Westphalia to be honoured with the Diamond Award. The convened commission for design quality voted unanimously in favour of the DGNB Diamond Award, which recognises the outstanding design and architectural quality of the office building Eclipse in Düsseldorf.
Among others, the commission highlights the Eclipse as a ‘successful conclusion to the Kennedydamm high-rise family to the north, with a strong independent identity’ and emphasises the flexibility of the floor plans, ‘which can be adapted to different needs and changes’. The outdoor spaces were also explicitly praised: ‘180 new trees were planted, roofs were greened, lawns and park-like situations were created. These are not only usable for employees and important for the urban climate, but also a generous enhancement for the surrounding neighbourhood.’
As a vertical campus and building ecosystem, Eclipse stands for the transformation of office and working environments and offers 1,200 flexible workstations and a variety of spatial and interior design options under one roof.
