New photos of the RWE campus in Essen

The RWE campus in Essen, designed by HPP for the client Lang & Cie, represents the restructuring of the group with its contemporary work worlds and visualises the transformation on the site. The recent photographic documentation of the completed first phase gives an insight into the project.

The group’s existing building on the site is extended by three square blocks to create an RWE campus with a central green space forming the communicative heart. Around 22,000 m² of office space for around 950 workplaces have now been completed. “The innercity location and space-defining incorporation of the existing building into the new construction are major factors in the quality of the project. Added to this is the campus character, considerable flexibility of use and generous green areas for recreation”, says Volker Weuthen, HPP’s senior partner in charge of the project. The interior design concept reflects the corporate identity and transformation of the group – authentic, clean and open with a clear focus on sustainability. A fourth building, due for completion by March 2021 and comprising approx 17,000 m² of rental space, is already under construction in line with plans prepared by HPP.
