The ‘Build in Wood’ conference presents the latest research and specific expertise, as well as visionary projects in wood construction. At the two-day conference industry, science and politics come together to discuss the future and the opportunities of wood in the construction industry. Antonino Vultaggio is currently in overall charge of the pioneering wood hybrid project The Cradle in Dusseldorf. The subjects covered in his presentation at the event included how hybrid and wood buildings minimise carbon footprint and address scarcity of resources as well as creating a healthy and pleasant working environment. The materials used in The Cradle are catalogued with a digitally-linked material passport, making the project a material store for the city of the future.
