Around 270 employees work in the new timber hybrid building, where the focus is on the health and well-being of the staff. With “music” as a central idee, the design highlight is the Sinuston wave; and on closer inspection, it can be recognised in the milled wooden slats in front of the ground floor façade, on the exposed concrete walls of the stairwell and also in the ceiling design of the cafeteria.
The supporting structure of the new building consists of a timber-concrete hybrid construction, the façade of timber frame elements. Ecological materials were used for the insulation, e.g. cellulose (façade), wood fibre (roof) and mineral wool (solid areas). This, combined with effective solar shading, highly efficient lighting and a photovoltaic system, reduces emissions by around 80 per cent. Clay walls also keep the building cool in summer. The building was constructed in particular with local and regional companies, and the building is aiming for DGNB Platinum certification.
