The aim of HPP’s current plans is to restore the original condition after the reconstruction in 1900. To do so, anachronistic complexes will be removed from the reconstruction concept for a medieval castle and individual items such as the murals will be carefully restored. In addition, the buildings will be refurbished in terms of their energy footprint, the existing infrastructure extended and the grounds completely redesigned. In the future, the story of Castle Burg and its most important protagonists will be told in the complex through a largely barrier-free exhibition designed by the architectural office of Holzer Kobler Architekturen. In June 2018, HPP was commissioned to undertake a general refurbishment of Castle Burg, and the work is due for completion in 2024.
